ETMC EMS is the nation's second-largest rural EMS system and has been serving the residents of 17 East Texas counties from its headquarters in Tyler since 1968. With a fleet of more than 115 ambulances and three helicopters, our organization is able to respond to any medical emergency in our 17,000-square-mile area quickly and efficiently.

Our experienced team consists of paramedics, emergency medical technicians and specially trained medical dispatchers who are dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our patients with superior and compassionate service.
The ability of ETMC EMS to provide top-notch emergency healthcare to such an extensive region led to the founding of Paramedics Plus, a wholly owned subsidiary of East Texas Medical Center. Today Paramedics Plus is one of the most successful of its kind and oversees operations from Florida to Oklahoma.
We also help keep our patients' expenses affordable by offering EMS Membership, a low-cost membership program covering all emergency services for as low as $60 annually.

With one of the most advanced programs for systems status management in the world, ETMC EMS strategically places ambulances for optimal response with the use of GPS technology. The sophisticated computerized program ensures our ability to meet the needs of patients with continuous real-time adjustment of staffing patterns and vehicle deployment.
Our state-of-the-art communication center is operated by experienced emergency medical technicians and certified emergency medical dispatchers trained to assist patients in the moments before help arrives.
