Sioux Falls, South Dakota is home to the most recently installed division of the nation-wide Paramedics Plus ambulance transport system that went into service on May 21, 2015.

Sioux Falls Paramedics Plus is responsible for serving the primary response area of the city which is 73-square-miles. With a population of 160,000 residents they receive approximately 40 calls for service per day.

Sioux Falls operates with a fleet of 11 ambulances and all are equipped with new Lifepak 15 ECG devices, Stryker Power Stretchers and Panasonic Tough Book patient care reporting devices along with state of the art dispatching software.

Metro Communications will provide all of the dispatch services and their staff has been trained on ‘System Status Management’. This deployment system is based on historical data that indicates when emergency calls occur and how frequently throughout the city.

Local staff from the prior provider have been hired and re-trained on all of the new equipment and vehicles. In addition, Paramedics Plus has renovated a building at 4000 West 57th Street in Sioux Falls for its headquarters.
