Director of the overall management of the communications division of EMS which includes System Status Management, AVL, 800 MHz trunked radios, CAD and E 9-1-1.
EMS is a department of the East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System which provides service to approximately 17,000 square miles of Texas. The Communications Center processes approximately 135,000 calls for service yearly which results in about 105,000 transports. As Director I am responsible for: (1) the selection, installation and management of a new digital 700/800 MHz wide area smartzone trunked radio system that provides service to 3,600 users and has thirteen (16) tower sites that support ETMC, City of Tyler and Smith County government radio needs, (2) selection and installation of a new computer aided dispatch system, (3) the design and installation of a new Communications Center along with new dispatch consoles, (4) the telephone systems, paging system management and cellular phones for EMS, and (5) the development and maintenance of the System Status Plan.
